2024Founders of the Village Drums of Freedom, Gerry Drums and Nyron Roots, take us back to their early days in Trinidad & Tobago, during the island's recent independence. Inspired by elder leaders, they pursued spiritual and political empowerment through culture and took it to the international stage.
50 years later, they tell us their story as they prepare for the golden anniversary of their community festival on that same piece of land they grew up on, showcasing the rich musical expressions that emerged from the culture of drumming.
